My Favorite Low-Sugar Margarita Recipes

Jump to recipe

Here they are! My two, favorite, skinny, margarita recipes! These can be made with super simple ingredients, and they are SO YUMMY and refreshing! Perfect for those warmer weather porch-sitting, watching the chickens peck in the front yard evenings!

Low Sugar Margaritas!
All the ingredients used for BOTH margarita recipes!

The first recipe is one I made up really because I didn’t have proper margarita recipes, AND I wanted to make something refreshing, and that didn’t have sugar. I am a T1 diabetic and try to abide by a low carb lifestyle, and these fit in perfectly!

So for the first recipe, you’ll use a combination of your favorite tequila, an unsweetened sparkling water, and a true Lemon or Lime packet. You can experiment with flavor, but my FAVORITE combo so far when making this is to use an unsweetened strawberry sparkling water, and a plain True Lime or Lemon packet. It’s such a yummy, fresh flavor, and it’s just sweet enough without being too sweet! I LOVE the True Lime and Lemon flavor packets, because they’re sweetened with stevia, and don’t contain any chemical sweeteners.

I start out mixing the flavor packet with the tequila, and then adding lime, fresh if you have it, or bottled if you don’t have fresh. Then you’re going to slowly pour the sparkling water on top, being careful, because it WILL fizz!

I finish by sprinkling some salt on top, or you could do a salted rim if you’re that fancy! Add a lime wedge, and you’re done! It’s such an awesome recipe, and it tastes much more complicated than it is! This would also be awesome made into a pitcher size for parties!

Skinny Strawberry Margarita

Recipe by Pure Blonde Blog – Salome Klopfenstein

Skinny Strawberry Margarita

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila

  • Lime Juice

  • Pure Lemon or Lime Packet

  • Un-sweetened Sparkling Water

Directions

  • Mix the Tequila and flavor packet together – I prefer the plain True Lemon or Lime Packet
  • Squeeze in half a lime wedge or equivalent bottled lime juice.
  • Top with sparkling water. I love the unsweetened strawberry sparkling water!
  • Mix together, top with salt to taste, and a lime wedge & enjoy!

The second recipe is one I found online, and modified it slightly. This includes St. Germain, which is an elderflower liquor, tequila, and lime! I added in a place of plain sparkling water too, because I like the slightly bubbly texture, but you definitely can leave that part out, and it’s still so yummy. The St. Germain is sweet, so you don’t need to add any sweetener to this. It ends up being sweet enough, but not syrupy or over powering!
